It's been two months and no entries.  Cornell had taken over my life.  But now I'm trying to get it back.  I did a crazy thing 2 weeks ago: Sun, Nov 19 purchase of a Wii on opening day.

    11/19 (On a mission for a Wii):

6:10am - wake up after 4 hours of nice sleep.  Oddly refreshed.

6:30am - Began my journey to Elmira.  Destination: Best Buy and Target.

7:20am - Arrive at Target, tickets had already been given out.  Stand in line at Best Buy.

8:25am - Overhear a conversation.  Group of boys get off the line to go to K-Mart for a Wii.

8:35am - Tickets given out at Best Buy.  They had 26 systems, and I would have been #27.

8:40am - Remember the boys and call two K-Marts.  Local one is sold out.  Other one in Bath, NY has 2 left.  Get directions from the people on the line to this strange town.

8:45am - Drive away without hesitation on a new mission.

9:20am - Arrive at K-Mart to find that both Wiis are still there!  I buy their bundle pack with Zelda and DBZ.

9:45am - Depart from K-Mart, fully satisfied.  Leave Bath, headed back toward Ithaca.

11:15am - Arrive in Ithaca, 5 hours and 130 miles later.  Completely exhausted and burnt out.  Mission Accomplished.

  • I went to Noyes, caught the cashier trying to cheat me for a penny, and had a wait 5 minutes for them to find one to give to me.  He eventually got the drawer open and gave me one.  Sometimes awkward situations are kinda fun, having 2 workers scramble for a penny, just standing there waiting on something so seemingly insignificant.  NOTE: this wasn't the same beloved cashier who usually works in J's Crossing.  He's still jolly and cool.

It's not that I think a penny is that important for practical use, I just got a little annoyed that he would not believe students would read how much they had to pay (although I guess it's true in most cases).  It's safe to say that every Cornell student knows how to do addition and subtraction, not to mention that we can count.  So it turned out that he probably didn't give me my penny because he didn't want to open the roll.  And even though I change mental states quite often, he caught me at a moment when I really wanted my penny.  That's all.

  • I have removed the posts about my theory.  It's a good one and it's evolving, but it's a dangerous theory.  It doesn't only describe, but it predicts...

There haven't been any entries lately because either I've been too busy or there wasn't anything post-worthy to put up.  Perhaps in the near future?  We'll see.
